The natural colour of The Macallan is derived entirely from the interaction between our new make spirit and exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks. Years of maturation allow the whisky to develop a complex aroma, texture, depth of flavour and spectrum of beautifully radiant colours.

The Sherry Oak Collection 12 Years Old showcases the influence of exceptional sherry seasoned European oak casks, delivering aromas of dried fruits, candied citrus peel and oak with hints of ginger and nutmeg. On the palate, raisins and sultanas with ginger syrup, a touch of sweet cinnamon spice and a hint of vanilla, with a long finish of oak and warming ginger.

The Macallan’s unique red colour used in the product design has been created to commemorate the significance of red throughout our history.
